Me2 Inclusive Youth Dance Company

Hello everyone!

Hope you all had a great Easter! Here at MeshDance, we've been busy reflecting on what was an exciting few months for Me2!  They performed at NSCD's Community Dance Platform and also at Fresh 2014! This event showcased the best of youth dance in Yorkshire and Me2 were honoured to be included!
It was an action packed day, featuring studio practice, technical rehearsals, finale choreography rehearsals, a quick break for some food and then the show itself! Me2 were the only inclusive group performing on the evening, and they definitely proved how talented they are and how hard they have worked this year.

The Summer term is due to be just as exciting for Me2! We will be welcoming some new dancers to the company, and getting ready for a performance on Wednesday 16th July at Northern Ballet's Accessible Dance Sharing. This will be our second time performing at this event. The sharing last year was a huge success and enabled us to see other inclusive groups at work! We can't wait to go back and see what everyone has been working on for the past year.

Mia and Karen are extremely proud of Me2 and all their hard work and are looking forward to the Summer term. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful assistants Katie Aynsley, Rachel Connor and Janice Keith for their continued support!

Did any of our lovely readers catch either of Me2's performances last term? We'd love to know what you thought!

MeshDance March

Earlier in the month we took a trip from sunny Leeds to a slightly less sunny Middlesbrough. We took to the road in order to meet the second year dance students at Teesside University. We introduced ourselves and gave them our Dance and Disability Lecture, which was action packed full of techniques, exercises and ideas for working with groups of people with disabilities, as well as ideas for working with inclusive groups.

It was a pleasure to work with the students, we had a great time sharing our skills and listening to their thoughts and questions about the work we do...

In other exciting news, MeshDance are pleased to announce that they have been awarded a residency at Yorkshire Dance this Summer!

Call out for choreographers and dancers soon, contact meshdance@gmail.com for further information.
